About

Margot is a free-spirited human who, among other things, is an avid wilderness lover, adventure sports addict, military officer, book nerd, and traveling veterinarian. Her furry companion is Ullr, an Australian cattle dog with a similarly skewed ratio of enthusiasm to self preservation instinct.

Margot and Ullr are based in Alaska, but Margot’s veterinary work often takes her out of state or internationally. On the civilian side, she operates as a locum doctor, traveling to different veterinary hospitals to cover emergency room and ICU shifts. She also travels with the Army Reserve, leading teams who provide medical care for the military’s working animals as well as implementing human food safety and public health programs. Between the two, she considers herself fortunate to have found a way to combine her childhood dream job with a lifelong love of exploring the world’s wild places.

In their time off, Margot and Ullr can be found (or not found) wandering the backcountry in the delightful absence of a defined destination.
